Any sprint coach will tell you that over and above the mastery of starting and technique generally, the absolute must for really fast work is raw animal strength\u201d. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Peter Coe<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coe also argued that the common myth that weight training led to muscle bulk was incorrect. Stating that:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cExercises to develop strength and endurance are not those used for producing hypertrophy\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Strength Training Guidelines<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following guidelines outline Coe\u2019s circuit and weight training philosophy:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strength training should not be restricted to the winter months but should be a year-round commitment.
